Spatial Climate Hazard Data and Risk Screening Tool for the Sahel Region

The specific objectives of this task are to:

• Conduct a high-resolution climate risk assessment to identify relevant current and projected climate hazards and vulnerability hotspots in the 11 Sahel countries.
• Develop a climate risk screening tool for the Sahel countries to support climate hazard assessment for power transmission grid systems in the Sahel region, high-level climate risk assessments on DtP projects, and DtP investment decisions.
• Analyze identified hazard impacts for grid-connected solar generation plants and decentralized solar solutions, and subsequently develop climate resilient technical guidelines for siting, design, operations and maintenance of solar assets for the Sahel region to serve as mitigations for climate hazard impacts on solar systems.
