Caribbean Climate Smart Islands Program - Assessment of Mitigation Options to Support Transition to Low Carbon Development Models

The main objective of this project is to support the transition to low carbon development models in Tobago (Trinidad and Tobago), Caye Caulker (Belize) and Harbour Island (Bahamas) by identifying and implementing resilient mitigation measures in priority sectors such as transport, infrastructure, energy, water, waste management and tourism. Project activities include: reviewing and expanding existing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories in selected sectors; identifying and implementing pilot mitigation projects; and reviewing and making recommendations for institutional and legal frameworks to implement large-scale climate change mitigation interventions.
